Orgon lives the good life — he has status, wealth, and a loving family. But he feels his soul is missing something — a sense of spiritual purpose to give his life meaning.
He brings into his home Tartuffe, a man full of faith and principles whom Orgon sees as almost divine. From that moment on, the entire family spirals into chaos, and no one is able to open Orgon’s eyes to the possibility that Tartuffe might, in fact, be a con artist.
